What Caused Lucifer to Declare War Against God?

Instead of going to the first book of the Bible of Genesis, let us approach the answer to the question of What caused Lucifer to declare war against God by using the following verse found in the last book of the Bible, the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Chapter 12 and verse 3.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3)

So, now we will deal with the last phrase in Revelation 12:3. having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. This is another description of the great red dragon. The only verse in the Bible that has the complete names of Satan is in Revelation 20:2, And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. However, there are many other verses that describe his activities, his goals, his successes and his failures and his end. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:10)

Lucifer In Heaven Before Iniquity was Found in him

seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3)

Satan Reigning over the Earth in Blasphemy Against God

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. (Revelation 13:1)

See the contrast between Revelation 12:3 and Revelation 13:1? What are we missing, or not seeing in our lead verse of Revelation 12:3? And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. While this wonder of a great red dragon was in heaven, he had seven heads, and ten horns and seven crowns upon his heads BEFORE iniquity was found in him. . . . and when he was cast out of heaven symbolically his appearance was altered LATER in PROPHECY. And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. Now on the earth but rising up out of the sea (the sea always describes the Gentile world) Lucifer/Satan now (in Revelation 12:3) has TEN CROWNS (not SEVEN CROWNS) and upon each of his seven heads he has the name of BLASPHEMY. (Revelation 13:1)

The core root that drove Lucifer into a state of madness was the seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns that he was assigned to exhibit.

Our current study verse of Revelation 12:3 is a scene BEFORE the great red dragon was cast out of the heavenly realm and from the place of God’s throne, and BEFORE iniquity was found in him. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3) The seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads is the core root involved in Lucifer’s vanity and pride that drove Lucifer into a state of madness for the seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads symbolically displayed the supernatural spiritual realm of GOD’s POWER, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and HIS GLORY as the HEAD over all of HIS creation. These crowns, and horns and heads did not belong to Lucifer, he did not own them, they did not represent Lucifer because Lucifer was created to be a witness of and a proclaimer of God’s power and glory. God opened His created universe as a new day, a bright glorious and shining day of a GREAT CREATION. Therefore, even Lucifer’s name son of the morning was a witness of God’s new day of creation, not a day in time but an act of creation in timelessness. Although Lucifer had a high position and rank as a covering Cherub, he was just that . . . a Cherub . . . a Cherub with great power . . . . and he bore on his head, and he was clothed with things that represented GOD’S GREATNESS, seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads was and is ALL about GOD, not about Lucifer. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3) And right in the middle of this statement by the Holy Spirit of God we are shown why Lucifer became totally obsessed with rage as a great red dragon because on his being he displayed GOD’S GREATNESS OVER ALL OF HIS CREATION, and the sin of vanity and pride was found in this Cherub.

The seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns symbolically displayed the supernatural spiritual realm of GOD’s POWER, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and HIS GLORY as the HEAD over all of HIS creation.

Thus, the war in heaven began. In war there are many battles, and skirmishes, and many weapons to accomplish specific goals, and many levels of warriors assigned with many different responsibilities. Yet there is only one main goal and that is to win. But to win what? You see, there has to be a reason to go to war in the first place (well, for reasonable people this would seem to be a correct thought, however, according to the unelected self-proclaimed tyrannical leaders of the United States, they really do not need a viable reason, the exchange of money seems to be enough of an excuse to destroy people and nations.) In the attack of Lucifer against God, Lucifer had one distinct objective: to bring down and destroy the ‘visible’ image of God in the heavenly spiritual sphere, the Lord Jesus in His official office and role as the High Priest of God – Melchizedek; and being God, to bring God down also. Lucifer passionately hated Him there in that spiritual realm, as he hated the ‘manifested in the flesh’ image of God, Jesus Christ, on earth in the tangible seen realm. The seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns are ALL about the Lord Jesus.

The pre-existence of Christ BEFORE the world was, and before the beginning of time is proven throughout the Old and New Testaments. However, many have not  seen that Christ held the position of High Priest in that celestial realm, and in that position, He was and is called Melchizedek.

The following Scriptures build on the point of Christ’s glory in heaven, His position in heaven as Priest and Son, and that He was/is King of Peace and King of Righteousness there then, and there now. His priestly role required a sanctuary, and articles of worship in that unseen realm. This is all important because Lucifer’s rebellion began because he could not stand to see Melchizedek, the Lord Jesus, as not only the High Priest of God, but the Oneness of God fused as the visible bodily representative of the Godhead, therefore, as the Son of God in heaven. Yes, even in the invisible realm it is visible to those who dwell there. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (John 17:5)

• In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) The same was in the beginning with God. (John 1:2)

•(Jesus said) I and my Father are one. (John 10:30)

• And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. (Genesis 14:18)

• The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. (Psalm 110:4)

• Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. (Zechariah 6:13)

•As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 5:6) Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; (Hebrews 5:7)

•And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (Hebrews 5:9) Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 5:10)

•That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: (Hebrews 6:18) Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (Hebrews 6:19) Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 6:20)

•For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; (Hebrews 7:1) To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; (Hebrews 7:2) Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. (Hebrews 7:3) Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. (Hebrews 7:4)

•For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 7:17)

•Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; (Hebrews 8:1) A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. (Hebrews 8:2)

•But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; (Hebrews 9:11)

•For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (Hebrews 9:24)

Keep in mind that the two areas of attack that Satan uses against God are: first, the Sonship of Christ, and the Lord’s position as the High Priest of God. Think on this point; to attack these two positions is an attack against the Godhead bodily. This is all about seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

Look how Satan tempted the Lord Jesus Christ in the wilderness in Matthew Chapter 4. What occurred on earth was a result of what had transpired in heaven before Lucifer sinned, and how his hatred was directed to the heart of the issue.

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. (Matthew 4:1) And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. (Matthew 4:2)

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (Matthew 4:3) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4) Satan attacked the issue of Sonship and in this Son/Father relationship we also see the Oneness of the Godhead in creation. We read in Genesis 1:1, In the beginning <re’shiyth> God <‘elohiym> created <bara’> <‘eth> the heaven <shamayim> and <‘eth> the earth. <‘erets> IT IS ‘elohiym . . . the plurality of ONE GOD in all of His (and for a better word) personalities. Satan, in Matthew 4:3 attacked Christ Jesus through His creatorial powers, thus, this was an attack against the Godhead bodily.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, (Matthew 4:5) And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (Matthew 4:6) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Matthew 4:7) Lucifer struck again, but this time it was not against the Godhead only, it was against Christ as the Son of God, the visible express image of God and His obedience to the determinate counsels of God.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; (Matthew 4: 8) And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. (Matthew 4:9) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:10) Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. (Matthew 4:11)

This confrontation is documented only in three gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) and each time it is presented in a different way, adding to our understanding not only of this scene between the Lord and Satan, but also it adds to each gospel. Since the book of Matthew is about the King of Israel, and His kingdom, it is fitting, therefore, that Matthew4:8 points to the kingdoms of the world. Mark is the gospel of the servant, and consequently, the temptation of Satan only mentions that the event occurred, nothing more. And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. (Mark 1:12) And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. (Mark 1:13) However, in the gospel of Luke we have additional information added to what is recorded in the gospel of Matthew. And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: (Luke 4:9) And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Luke 4:12) Once again, Luke is the gospel of the Son of man. It was Christ as the Son of man that we have a Man in heaven for us. It is Christ as the Son of man who has power to forgive sins, and it is the Son of man who now sits on the right hand of the power of God. It was as the Son of man that the Lord Jesus Christ brought man to God in His priestly role as Melchizedek.

In the gospel of Luke, we see the attack against the Lord Jesus Christ as Melchizedek, the High Priest of God. This scene is set on a pinnacle of the temple, in Jerusalem. This is the place where God’s Christ, in the millennial, will sit and reign over the entire world. This particular assault by Satan was to try to influence Christ to reveal Himself through His power BEFORE God’s timetable of revealing Him as King and Priest over the earth. In doing so, God’s purposes and plans would be stymied, promises broken, salvation meaningless, and heaven and earth left wrecked and ruined with Satan as the victor over God. But Christ sets the real point before Satan in his folly to fight against God. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Luke 4:12) Christ put it all before Satan that Christ was God. Christ was God in heaven, and Christ was God on earth, and nothing could break the bond of Oneness, and nothing could destroy the Godhead bodily. I and my Father are one. (John 10:30) Christ proclaimed His omnipresence.

The stage has been set, and the curtain is about to open to us to aid us in understanding the beginning, the cause, and the result of the war that Lucifer vainly began in the invisible spiritual realm of God. You can see this as the history of Satan, or the history of evil; where evil came from, why evil was initiated, and what stimulated evil to manifest itself into the universe.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3)

The Patterns in God’s Heavenly Realm

Principalities – Powers – Rulers

The book of Ephesians, Chapter 6, verse 12 opens a minuscule view into order in the spiritual realm through spiritual wickedness. God is a God of order. His realm, therefore, has order. However, the evil realm of Satan is fixated on disorder and confusion over the earth, but in order to accomplish disorder and confusion there has to be some form of organized order and control at the top level of wickedness. Why wouldn’t Satan be a hypocrite even in his own government? (Isn’t hypocrisy in all governments under the control of Satan?) Since Satan (alias Lucifer) cannot create, he can only copy, and since Satan (alias Lucifer) is impotent not omnipotent he can only imitate order not institute order. As God has His princes, so to, Satan has his princes.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. (Ephesians 6:12)

God helps us to understand that in the spiritual world there are organized systems of rankings and positions in a celestial hierarchy: such as PRINCIPALITIES; this is the celestial position of authority as a prince, the closest position to the one with the ultimate authority.

• But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. (Daniel 10:13)

•Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come. (Daniel 10:20)

•But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and [there is] none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. (Daniel 10:21)

•And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. (Daniel 12:1)

•Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. (Jude 12:7)

•And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, (Revelation 12:7)

In the supernatural spiritual world, we see two completely different angelic beings: the angels of God and the angels of Satan. Both have ranks of being a prince: a prince of God and a prince of Satan. The prince of Persia and the prince of Grecia (Greece) are of Satan. Michael the archangel, one of the chief princes, has a primary assignment as prince of the nation of Israel, and Michael is also noted as the great prince. Let’s not leave out the angel who stands in the presence of God and is sent to declare God’s words, the angel Gabriel. But weren’t all the rogue angels which fought with Lucifer against God cast into a prison and are held there by chains? Yes.

• For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast [them] down to hell, and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (2nd Peter 2:4)

•And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. (Jude 1:6)

• Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: (Job 4:18)

• Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. (Job 15:15)

These villainess angels NEVER roamed the earth. They were immediately cast down to hell waiting for their final judgment; ergo, these rebellious angels did not sexually intermix with created beings on earth.

Remember that in all realms, both spiritual and tangible, there are levels of ranking. These angels were of the classification of POWERS. (Do I understand all of this? Of course not!) Scripture NEVER contradicts itself; scripture adds to scripture, it is only our inability to comprehend the things that exist outside of our frame of comprehension that we need to accept by faith. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. (Ephesians 6:12) We are given a small glimpse of PRINCIPALITIES in the spiritual world: principalities of spiritual goodness and principalities of spiritual wickedness in high places. This would be the headship over a dominion at the top level over the realm that is served.

Then next we have POWERS, functionaries with militaristic authority and with supernatural powers to accomplish their directives from those with a princely position, the principalities. [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. (Colossians 1:16) These spiritual powers of wickedness will be shaken. The gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke inform us that these wicked powers will shake with dread and fear as they crumble, and we are also informed in Romans 8:38 and 39 that because God’s foundation is SURE AND SECURE that nothing can separate us, the sons of God, from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (In these three gospels we have both the tangible and spiritual realms.)

• Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: (Matthew 24:29)

• And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. (Mark 13:25)

• Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:26)

• For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, (Romans 8:38) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39)

If you are wondering why this theme of the powers of heaven being shaken is not in the gospel of John, could it be that the gospel of the Spirit through the absence of this theme is that Christ is the TRUE POWER of ALL LIFE. (John 1:12, 10:8, 17:2, 19:11) AND HE IS THE ONE WHO SHAKES the wicked powers in both heaven and earth. “In the Lord’s very Person is ALL the power of God: the power of creation, the power of life (and the power of an endless life), the power to sustain all that He has created, and the power and the omnipotent power of His glory which is beyond all concept of man’s thoughts.” (MCH)

Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. (Hebrews 12:26)

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; (Haggai 2:6)

After PRINCIPALITIES and after POWERS we have RULERS. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. (Ephesians 6:12) Read Ephesians 6:12 twelve times slowly and you will see not only spiritual wickedness in high places (the heavens) but you will also see the darkness of this world, the spiritual and tangible wickedness of this world. When you follow the word RULE or RULERS through Scripture, it adds to your understanding of the dual nature of RULE. The first mention of RULE is, of course, in the 1st Chapter of the first book of the Bible, Genesis.

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. (Genesis 1:16)

And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, (Genesis 1:17)

And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:18)

And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. (Genesis 1:19)

The moon in Genesis is a type of God’s witness on earth reflecting the Greater Light of God in Jesus Christ. Thus, the moon is called the lesser light that rules in the darkness of man in sin on the earth.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. (John 12:46)

To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. (Acts 26:18)

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2nd Corinthians 4:6)

How does this all connect to Ephesians 6:12, (For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]), and the RULERS in the realm of the unseen? Before I answer this question, I need to add this verse from Exodus 18:25 to show you the system of God’s order in the tangible world is a reflection of God’s order in the unseen world. And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. The word RULERS not only denotes order but in Ephesians 6:12 we have a specific area of rule over the darkness of this world. These evil entities called powers have levels of assignments OVER THIS WORLD. As in most worldly levels of government, the higher you go up the chain of command the less likely you will find individuals who get their hands dirty. I would think that this same concept was first in Satan’s spiritual government. Therefore, these rulers of the darkness of this world have been men of renown on earth, and up to this very moment in time, these rulers still rule over the earth, the names change, but they never change . . . from Cain to Nimrod to Nebuchadnezzar to Pharaoh to Caesar to Nero to Herod to Judas to Alexander the Great to Hitler and all the tyrant rulers of the past to the tyrant rulers of our age; their one goal has been to rule over the world as gods.

The Pattern of the Tabernacle

The visible things of the tabernacle were actually the reality that exists in the heavens.

Before time and space, before the creation of mankind, before in the beginning, God created a spiritual realm that He later tangibly created on earth to lead His yet to be created nation, Israel, to understand their God whom they would worship. Moses was given an exact pattern to follow when the tabernacle was constructed, According to all that I shew thee, [after] the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make [it]. (Exodus 25:9) This pattern was formed from the true subject in the heavens, for two purposes: first, to reveal God and His Christ in His completeness, but it was also to be a witness to Israel that the visible things of the tabernacle were actually the reality that exists in the heavens. Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should [so] say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say [again], Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it [is] a witness between us and you. (Joshua 22:28)

The Pattern of the First Temple

David was also given a pattern to follow on the building of the First Temple, known as Solomon’s Temple. And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things: (1st Chronicles 28:12)

And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out [their wings], and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD. (1st Chronicles 28:18) All [this, said David], the LORD made me understand in writing by [his] hand upon me, [even] all the works of this pattern. (1st Chronicles 28:19)

The Substance of the Pattern

The True Tabernacle – The True SanctuaryThe Temple

Paul, through the voice of the Spirit of God, wrote about the pattern on earth and the substance of that pattern in heaven. Notice that I used the word ‘substance,’ it is extremely difficult for the mind to grasp that reality and substance exists in the unseen world, for we, weak creatures with limited minds and understanding, can only accept that what we see with our eyes is the ONLY REALITY there is, and this is not true, there is a SPIRITUAL REALITY that exists in the Supernatural realm of God. Chapter 8, verse 2 of the book of Hebrews is one of many references that speaks of a SANCTUARY, and a TRUE TABERNACLE that exist in the heavens in the ARENA of the throne room of the Majesty on high. Note again the word ARENA, this denotes space, and space is a concept within our understanding for we are creatures of time and space, but when we are pulled out from the thoughts of time and space we become mentally and spiritually challenged, except for one important point, and that is having not seen, and though now ye see him not, yet believing. (1st Peter 1:7-9) BELIEVING in God and in His word removes all challenges in spiritual understanding. (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) (2nd Corinthians 5:7) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

God’s heavenly realm has layers, and levels of such depths and heights that peak and comes to a head in His glorious perfection and completeness of holiness that His highest realm of all can be said to be crowned with glory and honor, as He crowned His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christy with glory and honor. Remember, that what we see and have on earth is but a shadow of the substance which is in heaven. God communicates to us using the things of the seen to explain the things of the spiritually unseen. We are but quickly passing shadows of a temporal and temporary world, but the substance of reality is in the eternal state of timelessness.

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; (Hebrews 8:1) A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. (Hebrews 8:2)

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; (Hebrews 9:11) Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9:12)

It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. (Hebrews 9:23) For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (Hebrews 9:24)

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. (Revelation 11:19)

And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened: (Revelation 15:5)

Since our dual passage spans two realms, and time and timelessness it is sometimes necessary to remind readers where they were first launched from and the lead verse, And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3) The last section of this verse ties Lucifer/Satan having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads to the pattern in the heavens. Now let us continue on this passage connecting two worlds.

The Holy Spirit uses a word that we of the earth can understand, and the word is MOUNTAIN. Think on this: why Mount Sinai? The place where God’s voice was heard by all of Israel, the place where Moses met with God face to face, the place where God set His commandments of righteousness and holiness, the place where His power shook the mountain, and the flames of fire flowed down to present to His people the evidence of His great power. As the earthly place called Mount Sinai laid the foundation of God’s truth and glory, and His holy laws and commandments, would there not also be a holy and high mountain in the heavenly realm where the foundation of God’s truth and glory would be seen. Thy righteousness [is] like the great mountains; thy judgments [are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. (Psalms 36:6) There are spiritual mountains in the supernatural world that are crowned with God’s righteousness for His foundation [is] in the holy mountains. (Psalms 87:1), and there is a mountain that towers above all of these mountains, and this is the mountain of His Sanctuary in His Spiritual realm. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, (Revelation 21:10) Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; (Revelation 21:11)

Think on this: why Mount Zion? As God’s throne in heaven isHis dwelling place in the heavenlies, so, also Mount Zion will become His dwelling place and throne on earth. Since Mount Sinai laid the foundation of God’s kingdom on earth, Mount Zion would be God’s completion of His house on earth through the reign of His King, His Messiah, the lord Jesus Christ.

O Lucifer, son of the morning! (Isaiah 14L12) Lucifer was there in his position as son of the morning, and he was there walking upon the holy mountain of God in the heavens in the midst of the stones of fire, and God cast him out of the mountain of God. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. (Ezekiel 28:16)

There are two separate events here; first God cast Lucifer out of the holy mountain of God when Lucifer was the anointed cherub that covereth, when he walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. In Ezekiel 28:14 we read Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

The second event is yet to happen, after Satan sinned, notice the tense becomes future, I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee. Satan will through his seven heads and ten horns and wearing ten crowns place his man of sin, the Beast, Satan manifested as the Beast, on the earthly throne in Zion, in Jerusalem, in the temple of God having on his heads the name of blasphemy.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2nd Thessalonians 2:3) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2nd Thessalonians 2:4)

The Heads, the Horns, and the Crowns

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3)

There is more reality in God’s invisible realm then in our visible world.

God’s realm is more than a realm of order, it is a realm centered around His Sanctuary, Thy way, O God, [is] in the sanctuary: who [is so] great a God as [our] God? (Psalm 77:13) As the supernatural spiritual realm of God came first in God’s creation, this realm precedes the tangible realm of our space-time understanding. To see thy power and thy glory, so [as] I have seen thee in the sanctuary.(Psalm 63:2) God’s power and glory are seen in His sanctuary. Since GOD IS SPIRIT, He also showed Himself in visible form even before His creation of time and space to lay the groundwork of the Godhead BODILY. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (John17:5) Hard to comprehend, and even harder to write about is the visible reality within the total spectrum of the invisible world. Our eyes cannot see into this invisible realm, but the eyes of the invisible realm can see both the invisible and the visible as their reality. (Reality is not a strong point with man, even in reality, many live in a delusional state of reality of their own making unable to face the realness of the sinful hardness of life particularly in our current age of global lies, treachery and deception.) There is more reality in God’s invisible realm then in our visible world. God placed His patterns and types in the form of substance to aid us in comprehending reality.

The heads, the horns, and the crowns are words that we can comprehend – having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. Satan had on his seven heads seven crowns and ten horns, but these heads, crowns and horns did not belong to him, Lucifer did not possess them, He wore them to display the glory and power of the One who is ALL POWER AND ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ALL HOLINESS. As Aaron, Israel’s high priest on earth, wore a mitre (as a priest) and on that mitre was a crown (as a king) while Aaron performed his assigned duties in the tabernacle, in the sanctuary, he did not possess that mitre and crown, he wore it to display the One whom he served: the True Priest of God and the True King of the earth.

Everything of the tabernacle in the wilderness spoke of God and the things that was in heaven. So, BEFORE the beginning, there was a PRIEST, and there was a KING. In Zechariah 6:13 we see into glory, a priest and a king. Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

We have an ETERNAL GOD, and ETERNAL KING, and a PRIEST FOR EVER in the One who is called Melchisedec, the priest of the most high God, and King of righteousness, and King of peace. In Psalm 110:4, we see the priest forever, The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. (Psalm 110:4) In Hebrews 3:1, we see our High Priest, Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.

Why is it necessary to write about Melchisedec, and Sinai, etc. etc., since we are supposedly dealing with the great red dragon, and the heads, crowns and horns? Well, to show you a realm of the unseen, and the order that God created that surrounded His worship center. For the Lord Jesus was/is Melchisedec, The High Priest forever in His role displaying the glories of the Godhead even then BEFORE the world of the tangible had been created. There was the ETERNAL GOD, the ETERNAL KING, and the ETERNAL SPIRIT BEFORE CREATION.

The eternal God [is thy] refuge, and underneath [are] the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy [them]. (Deuteronomy 33:27)

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, [be] honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (1st Timothy 1:17)

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)

To set the scene of crowns in heaven BEFORE time and space, we need to see that there are crowns later in heaven specifically on the heads of those who gather round about the throne of God in worship and praise. And round about the throne [were] four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. (Revelation 4:4)

The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, (Revelation 4:10) Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)

And crowns have been promised to the adopted children of God, the sons of God, a crown of righteousness (2nd Timothy 4:8), a crown of rejoicing (1st Thessalonians 2:19), the crown of life (James 1:12), and a crown of glory (1st Peter 5:4).

The Holy Spirit of God has already revealed to us through the pen of Moses, a specific crown that is on the head of the High Priest of God. As Aaron wore the mitre of high priest, which had a plate of pure gold, and engraved with the words HOLINESS TO THE LORD which was a pattern of things in heaven; therefore, the ETERNAL PRIEST in heaven, Melchisedec bears the true mitre of HOLINESS TO THE LORD. And they made the plate of the holy crown [of] pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, [like to] the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. (Exodus 39:30) A holy crown was placed upon the mitre of the earthly high priest Aaron, so, the heavenly High Priest has a mitre on which The Holy Crown is placed with the words HOLINESS TO THE LORD. And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre. (Exodus 29:6) And he put the mitre upon his head; also upon the mitre, even upon his forefront, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded Moses. (Leviticus 8:9)

Since crowns will be in heaven as promised by God, they are, therefore, part of the eternal heavenly scene. Consequently, this description is before the great red dragon was cast out, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. Our conflict on earth today of mankind against God, and man against man, and Satan and man united against God, ALL BEGAN BEFORE TIME AND SPACE in the REAL WORLD of the INVISIBLE REALM because of the having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. Satan became insane through his uncontrollable obsessive need to be as god; refusing to display God’s glory and power, rebelling against having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads that manifested God’s perfection (in the number seven) as THE HEAD of ALL THINGS, and His PERFECT ORDER (in the number ten) and as AUTHORITY and POWER in the horns, and His COMPLETE PERFECTION (in the number seven) as GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD The HOLY SPIRIT.

Side Note: Head, Horn, Crowns: The words the head is recorded in 109 verses for a total of 119 times, BUT there is only ONE time that is it capitalized.

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, (Colossians 2:18) And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. (Colossians 2:19)

The word horns connect to God’s power. God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. (Habakkuk 3:3) And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power. (Habakkuk 3:4) (Of course, there is much much more, however, the day is still young, and so is this article, for there is much more coming in Revelation Chapter 12.)

The phrase seven heads, and seven crowns also connect to the complete perfection of God the Holy Spirit and the Head as a Lamb. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6) End of Side Note: Head, Horn, Crowns.

Have you ever been in dangerous territory? Well, this is dangerous territory! To place a crown on the head of Lucifer can easily become spiritual quicksand. However, in Revelation 13:1 we read, And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. This verse is the fulfillment of prophecy. Consequently, the prophecy and the fulfillment will be addressed when we get to the following section . . . . whenever that happens.

THE FEATURE

1. The First War in the Supernatural Realm

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, (Revelation 12:7)

And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. (Revelation 12:8)

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:9)

Through this section —– (#3. The Seen and Unseen United Adversaries of God’s Nation —– And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads —– we have seen why Lucifer was called a great red dragon. Lucifer’s rebellion was based on having ten horns, and seven crowns upon his seven heads that symbolically displayed the supernatural spiritual realm of the power, the righteousness, the glory, and the holiness of God as the HEAD in total authority over His creation. Remember, that the crowns that Lucifer wore did not belong to him, neither did they represent him, he was merely a created entity created to serve God and to be a witness of God’s power and glory. Although Lucifer had a high position of rank as a covering Cherub, he was just that — a Cherub, a created entity with great power, but nothing more.

The next article will be . . . . I don’t know what it will be! I really want to continue on with our lead Scripture verse, and there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads, but I don’t know how to logically label the next section as a connection because I see it as having one foot planted on one hill and the other foot planted on another hill. I’ll just leave this article with a hook . . . .
